Electra Elf: The Complete Series

The Adventures of Electra Elf and Fluffer is a more-than-low bugdet cable access TV show produced by Nick Zedd (the man who coined the term Cinema Of Transgression) and staring lower east side artist Jen Miller aka Saint Reverend Jen. It was aired for the first time in 2004 on Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT). The idea, explained Nick Zedd “was to satirize the downfall of the American empire under the insane leadership of the Bush cabal”.

Here is the plot:

“By day Electra Elf is Jennifer Swallows, a mild-mannered reporter for Art Star Scene Magazine (A.S.S.) and Fluffer is Boobie, a chihuahua-clothes model, but when danger calls, the two put on stylish leotards and kick butt, taking down corrupt senators, sleazy frat-boys, satanic cults, landlords, zombie-tourists and other miserable malcontents in each heart-stopping episode. Unlike Spiderman, Superman or Batman, these aren’t the same old superheroes rehashed by entertainment moguls to fill the pockets of media conglomerates. These are original superheroes for the new millennium!”

Take The Devo Song Study

Remember Devo’s color study we posted two months ago? Well, now Devo needs you to help making the next album’s final tracklist. Exit Through The Gift Shop

Exit Through The Gift Shop

To make a long story short, this is a movie about a French dude trying to make a movie about Street Art until Banksy decides that the French dude should become an artist and let Banksy do the film. The French dude is now known as Mr Brainwash and is surely Street Art's biggest joke. The film hits U.S theaters on April 16th. Here's the pitch: Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post—hurricane New Orleans to the separation barrier on the Palestinian West Bank. Fiercely guarding his anonymity to avoid prosecution, Banksy has so far resisted all attempts to be captured on film. Exit Through the Gift Shop tells the incredible true story of how an eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner with spectacular results. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader and many of the worlds most infamous graffiti artists at work, on walls and in interview. As Banksy describes it, Its basically the story of how one man set out to film the un—filmable. And failed. Lire la suite
