Haçienda Reopens Under The Name of Factory

“With the Haçienda we were rubbish at business, so the idea is that we try and keep some of the ethos, the heritage and attitude, and do it in a business manner.” says Peter Hook of Joy Division.

Joy Division were one of the first bands to be signed by Factory Records which opened in 1982 in Manchester. 18 years later, Hook reopens the cult club under the name of Factory. A three-floor club, which features a 350-capacity room, re-design by Ben Kelly, in the old Factory records offices.

Michael Muhammad Knight, a 32 year-old American converted muslim wrote a book called The Taqwacores (from “Taqwa”, an Islamic concept of love and fear for Allah, and Core from Hardcore).
