micachu and the shapes press photoFrom her composition for the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008 to her grimy mix tape “Filthy Friends“, the spectrum of Micachu‘s already shiny resumé just keeps on growing, most notably in recent months with the release of her first album, “Jewellery”, in March 2009.

With her band “The Shapes”, 22 years old East-Londoner Micachu, aka Mica Levi, cut the umbilical cord with her musical studies by inventing a pop music laboratory. Among many other experiments, she is the proud creator of a bowed instrument fashioned from a CD rack, a hammer-action operated guitar called the “Chu”, and, on-stage her performance includes vacuum cleaners!
