"A Rock Band Inspired by Trees and Strange Places..."

From the first seconds of “LouisEville”, Louisville hurt you so. Louisville isn’t that far from early 90′s Louisville/Chicago indie-rock music scene (David Grubbs, The For Carnation, Smog, Tortoise, Slint, Palace, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, as Felicia sings in the very begining of this song). Olivier Cavaillé (cellist and photographer), multi-instrumentist Nikolu and Felicia Atkinson (singer and multimedia artist, check out her blog for drawings and stories) are Louisville, and they have a fascinating debut album, “A Silent Effort in the Night”, coming on French label Debruit&Desilence. “Des champs, de l’eau, Chicago…”

This is not even something I can remember live because I’m just too young. But I know that in any record store you go, there’s always a hidden Dwarves record. Originally from Chicago, mid-80′s hardcore/garage band had relocated in San Francisco. But anyway, the true reason why the band was known for was the guy, He Who Cannot Be Named, a naked masked-guitar player.
