R.I.P Jay Reatard

How we (almost) met the guy.

21.01.2010, par

On october 28th Jay Reatard had a show booked in La Maroquinerie, Paris. We were there to film the gig and do an interview with Jay. But things didn’t go so well on that day, Jay was more than unhappy about the soundcheck, arguing that it wasn’t loud enough. After maybe 3 hours of negociation with the venue and a lot of miscommunication, the show was finally canceled, so was our interview and we just helplessly saw Jay Reatard get in the van and leave. We didn’t have the chance to ask him a single question.

He died in his sleep 3 months later. Our first question was “Why are you so afraid of running out of time?”
