Scream reunites without Dave Grohl

Scream playing live in 1986We all know the common denominator between Nirvana and Foo-Fighters, but few of us remember drummer Dave Grohl’s first band, Scream. Formed in Northern Virginia in 1981, Scream belongs to the 80′s DC hardcore dream team with Minor Threat, the Bad Brains and State of Alert (Henry Rollins 1st band). This band was actualy the first on Dischord records to release a full length album.

Well, the band is about to face an audience again with their original lineup December the 20th at the Black Cat in DC. “Original” they said, which means, no Grohl, who’d joined the band in 86.

No Distance Left to Run: A documentary about Blur

blur are shite t-shirtIt might be just a trend  but documentaries about bands seem to be a little too pompous sometimes. I don’t know if this one about Blur will be any good, but the trailer looks like Damon Albarn and his friends were not just a band but some kind of heroes who fought the nazis or discovered the cure for cancer. Zombie Anonymous

No zombies allowed sign on a liquor store door.As usual in a zombie movie (like Zombieland that came out last october), the world is a nest of living deads. But in director Marc Fratto‘s attempt, instead of being run after by thirsty blood-covered retards, the humans become the no-mercy chasers, and the zombies are simply reduced to second zone’s citizens. New World Order: What do you believe?

New World Order: What do you believe?

new world order posterI’m not afraid to say it, I’m a conspirationist. I don’t believe that Bruce Lee is dead nor that Jamie Lee Curtis is actually a woman and to me, Sonic Youth’s appearance on Gossip Girl was fake (they can do crazy shit with computers nowadays).

New World Order is a documentary by Luke Meyr and Andrew Neel about people into conspiracy theorys such as “9/11 as an inside job”, “The Bilderberg group is a secret group meant to rule the world” and more recently “Climate change is a hoax”. Lire la suite
