Sid! By Those Who Really Knew Him

mvdv4916I always wonder: how can this even be possible? Another documentary on the Pistols… There we go, 30 years after Sid ODed on heroin, you still find some people to give their take on this punk icon.

Here comes english director Mark Sloper’s shot in collaboration with ITN Archive. A 80 minute documentary to be shown theatrically in London, to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Sid Vicious’ death. I hardly recommend for those who never saw THE Pistols documentary to watch Lech Kowalski‘s “DOA”, where he filmed the only Sex Pistols’s American tour and the ultimate scene with Nancy and Sid at the Chelsea Hotel in New York. (Watch the second video below).

Beat this Mark!

Scream reunites without Dave Grohl

Scream playing live in 1986We all know the common denominator between Nirvana and Foo-Fighters, but few of us remember drummer Dave Grohl’s first band, Scream. Formed in Northern Virginia in 1981, Scream belongs to the 80′s DC hardcore dream team with Minor Threat, the Bad Brains and State of Alert (Henry Rollins 1st band). This band was actualy the first on Dischord records to release a full length album. Lire la suite

Shot October the 30th in Pop’s studio in Miami, the ad features 9 local contest-winners musicians (out of the 200 who attended the audition) and of course Pop, performing his 77′s hit Passenger which was on the album Lust for Life. No Distance Left to Run: A documentary about Blur

blur are shite t-shirtIt might be just a trend  but documentaries about bands seem to be a little too pompous sometimes. I don’t know if this one about Blur will be any good, but the trailer looks like Damon Albarn and his friends were not just a band but some kind of heroes who fought the nazis or discovered the cure for cancer. Zombie Anonymous

No zombies allowed sign on a liquor store door.As usual in a zombie movie (like Zombieland that came out last october), the world is a nest of living deads. But in director Marc Fratto‘s attempt, instead of being run after by thirsty blood-covered retards, the humans become the no-mercy chasers, and the zombies are simply reduced to second zone’s citizens.
