We already talked about Jeremy Deller’s Mancunian procession and its fabulous steelband covering Joy Division, but here’s a yet unreleased documentary he co-directed with Nick Abrahams about Depeche Mode fans around the world. From Russia, where Dave Gahan’s birthday coincides with the country’s national military day, to Germany where a couple reenact Depeche Mode videos, the filmmakers traveled the globe searching for obsessive fans, devoting their lives to the english band. There’s not even a trailer yet but here’s two excerpts.
